AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas softball team split a doubleheader against Carnegie Mellon University. The Tornados claimed game two at Roberts Family Field on Monday.
GAME ONE: L, 4-3
The Tartans opened up the scoring with two runs on three hits in the top of the first. The Tornados answered in the bottom half with a sac bunt by Addison Lehew that scored Malarie Mican for a 2-1 score.
CTX then tied the game with another Lehew RBI that scored Mican in the third. With both offenses stalling in the next three frames, the Tartans tallied two runs in the top of the seventh.Â
The Tornados would put two runners in scoring position as Kylie Denaro scored to make it 4-3. With Mican on third, a suicide squeeze attempt would fall just short as Carnegie Mellon would escape game one.
