AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas softball team split a doubleheader against York College of Pennsylvania. The Tornados run-ruled the Spartans in game one at Roberts Family Field on Tuesday.
GAME ONE: W, 8-0 (6 Innings)
The Tornados jumped out to a 2-0 lead with an Addison Lehew two-RBI single that scored Kirk & Molly Olivarez in the first. CTX then filled the bases in the second and scored two more runs with a Kylie Denaro walk & a Kirk sac fly that scored Grace Coleman & Kylie Woods.
Concordia plated one run over the next three frames as Christian Everett, Harley Drouillard, & Ariana Murray all scored for a 7-0 lead entering the sixth. The Tornados once again juiced the bases in the next inning, & a RBI-single by Coleman brought home Kirk to secure the run-rule victory.

GAME TWO: L, 9-4
CTX put their first two hitters in scoring position and both would score as Malarie Mican converted on a passed ball & Denaro scored on a Kayla Looper RBI-single. The Spartans scored their first run of the evening in the top of the second.
Concordia responded in the bottom of the second when Molly Olivarez collected a fielder's choice RBI that scored Zaleigh Perez. York College then tied the game up at 3-3 with a pair of runs in the next half-inning.
The Spartans put up three runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth. They would then add one more run in the top of the seventh for a 9-3 lead. Down to their final out, Laney Shivers would deliver a RBI-single and score Olivarez before York securing the final out.
