AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas baseball team completed the series sweep over the University of St. Thomas with their third straight run-rule victory.
Colby Christian homered, & the Tornados tossed their second shutout of the series at Gardner-Boggs Field on Saturday.
Christian powered his two-run shot down the left field line in the first. In the second, a deep ball to the warning track by Mason Vasquez resulted in a two-base sac fly that scored Matthew Armes for a 3-0 lead.
Making it 4-0 in the fourth was Zach Seigrist with a RBI-double off the left field wall to score Carson Riley. CTX would then load the bases & Christian would single through the left side to score Seigrist.Â
Eric Garcia would tally a RBI-walk to escort Aaron Gomez home. Keeping up the momentum was Armes with a two-RBI single through the left side. Loading the bases again, Riley & Kolten McDaniel would earn RBIs for an 10-0 advantage. Continuing their defensive dominance, the Tornados would shut out the Celts for their third straight run-rule victory.
Concordia Texas will next shift their focus to the SCAC Tournament where they will be the two-seed. They will face McMurry at a time TBD.
