AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas softball team earned a 6-1 win over Southwestern University to win their fourth straight series & extend their win streak to 12 games. The Tornados honored their eight seniors at Roberts Family Field on Saturday.

The Pirates scored a run in the top of the first, but CTX answered with a RBI-double from Addison Lehew that scored Kylie Pavlicek in the bottom of the first. The Tornados claimed their first lead of the game in the second when Madeline Velasquez doubled up the right field line to score Kylie Woods. 

With two runners in scoring position later in the frame, Caylee Spangle scored Krista Burg with a bunt single. Spangle & Velasquez would then convert a double steal. Making it 5-1 was Taylor Smrt with a RBI-double to right center, scoring Spangle.

In the third, Velasquez collected another RBI with a single up the middle that brought home Woods. Would both teams stiffening on defense, 6-1 would be the end result as CTX would earn the victory.

Concordia Texas will now shift their focus to the SCAC Tournament next weekend. Their seed and time of the first game on Friday is TBD.
