AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas softball team overpowered the University of Dallas for a 13-4 run-rule victory to complete a series sweep. Molly Olivarez powered her second homerun of the series at Roberts Family Field on Sunday.
The Tornados got started early in the first with a RBI-single from Kylie Kirk that scored Christian Everett. Olivarez then made it 3-0 with her two-run shot. Kylie Pavlicek would then push the lead to 5-0 with a two-RBI single that scored Taylor Smrt & Mayson Post.
In the second, Addison Lehew, Olivarez, Smrt, & Post all combined for four consecutive RBI-doubles for an 9-0 advantage. Kayla Looper would then collect a RBI-single up the middle to score Post and give CTX a 10-0 lead heading into the third.
The Crusaders put up two runs in the top of the third, but the Tornados matched them with a two-RBI single from Post. In the fourth, Dallas put up another pair of runs to make it 12-4. Concordia would then add an insurance run with a Mallory Mata RBI-single that scored Malarie Mican.Â
Concordia Texas will next hit the road for Sherman, Texas to take on Austin College next Saturday, April 12th. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.
