AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas baseball team fell in the final non-conference game of the season in a 6-5 decision against UT Dallas. Aaron Gomez & Logan Smith both connected on two-RBI singles at Gardner-Boggs Field on Tuesday.

The Tornados struck first with a Smith two-RBI single that scored Matthew Armes & Eric Garcia in the second. The Comets tied the game in the next half-inning, but CTX would reclaim the lead with a RBI-single by Bo Dinscore that scored Colby Christian in the bottom of the third.

UT Dallas responded once again and took a 4-3 lead in the top of the fourth. Concordia would retire the lead again in the bottom of the frame with the bases juiced and a two-RBI single by Gomez, scoring Smith & Carson Riley. 

Counterpunching once again was the Comets who loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the fifth, but Brady Staedtler would enter the game and only allow one run for a 5-5 tie entering the bottom of the sixth.

Neither team would score again through the next three frames, sending the game into extra innings. The Comets would notch the go-ahead run in the 10th and hold on for the narrow victory.

Concordia Texas will next hit the road for Irving, Texas where they will take on the University of Dallas in a series starting this Saturday. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for noon.
