SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's soccer team was bested 3-0 in the road at 6th-ranked Trinity University on Sunday.
The Tigers threatened early in the 20th with a shot on goal from the left side of the box, but Leonel Cuellar would prevent the goal with a diving save. Just two minutes later, a touch pass in the box would give CTX a clean shot that would sail just right of the crossbar.
Trinity would go up 1-0 in the 30th by capitalizing on a penalty kick via a handball call. Just a few minutes later on a counterattack, Thomas Saylae would fire a shot on goal that would be corralled by the keeper.
The Tigers would then score another goal in the 34th to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. Capping off the evening, Trinity would add one more goal in the 54th to claim the victory.
Concordia Texas will next head to Belton, Texas to take on UMHB this Thursday in the final match of the five-game road trip to start the season. Kick off is set for 7pm.
