AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's basketball team showed grit in the final period but couldn't overcome an early deficit, falling 67–51 to Hendrix on Friday inside the Deb & Don Christian Fieldhouse.
The Tornados struggled to find offensive rhythm in the opening half, scoring just 18 points through the first two quarters while Hendrix built a 35–18 advantage behind efficient interior scoring and a strong presence on the glass. CTX continued to battle through the third, but Hendrix maintained control heading into the final frame.
Concordia found life in the fourth quarter, pouring in 22 points, their highest-scoring period of the night sparked by the play of Shanna Brown, who delivered a team high 19 points, 10 rebounds, and five steals in a standout two‑way performance. Taysie Trejo added 15 points, including a pair of threes, while Katelyn Tietjen had eight points.
Despite the late surge, Hendrix's balanced scoring and dominance on the boards proved decisive. The Warriors were led by Chloey‑Rei Brown's 18 points, while Riley Brady posted a 14‑point, 17‑rebound double‑double to anchor their interior attack. Hendrix finished with a 48–34 rebounding advantage and converted 23-of-29 free throws to keep CTX at arm's length.
The Tornados generated 21 points off turnovers and 14 fast-break points, but Hendrix's efficiency inside and ability to control second chance opportunities ultimately made the difference.
