AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's basketball team continued its strong start to conference play on Saturday afternoon, powering past the University of the Ozarks 98–69 inside the Deb & Don Christian Fieldhouse. The Tornados used overwhelming rebounding, depth scoring, and disruptive defense to improve to 11–2 overall and 4–0 in SCAC action.
Concordia controlled the game from the opening minutes, shooting 47 percent in the first half and building a 55–42 lead at the break. The Tornados' pace and physicality wore down the Eagles as the game progressed, with CTX finishing the afternoon with a 53–41 rebounding advantage, including 22 offensive boards that led to 25 second‑chance points.
Offensively, Concordia showcased its trademark balance. Anariss Brandon led the way with 20 points and 7 rebounds, attacking the paint and generating momentum‑shifting plays on both ends. Joey Ramirez added 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals, while Tremayne Martin delivered another efficient performance off the bench with 14 points and 6 rebounds.
The Tornados' depth again proved decisive, with the bench contributing 52 points. Percy Green helped out with 11 points and 5 rebounds, and Darone Leakes added 10 points, knocking down a pair of threes to spark CTX's perimeter attack.
Defensively, Concordia forced 25 Ozarks turnovers, converting them into 26 points while holding the Eagles to just 32 percent shooting in the second half. CTX also dominated the interior, outscoring Ozarks 50–34 in the paint and limiting second‑chance opportunities after halftime.
