AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's basketball team remained perfect in SCAC action with a commanding 102–77 victory over McMurry University on Friday evening inside the Deb & Don Christian Fieldhouse.
The Tornados used a blistering second half outscoring the War Hawks 58–36 to break open what had been a tight contest through the opening 20 minutes. CTX's depth, defensive pressure, and relentless pace proved overwhelming as they forced 37 turnovers, converted them into 40 points, and racked up 51 bench points.
Senior guard Joey Ramirez once again led the charge, finishing with 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals, including several momentum‑shifting plays early in the second half. Anariss Brandon added 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals, attacking the paint and sparking multiple transition runs.
CTX's bench delivered one of its strongest performances of the season. Percy Green posted 14 points and 8 rebounds, while Darone Leakes added 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals in an energetic two way effort. Freshman guard Tremayne Martin continued his steady production with 6 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 steals, helping the Tornados dominate the glass and control tempo.
McMurry hung tough early behind Amari Leflore's 16 points and Jalen Cherry's 15 point, 11‑rebound double‑double, but the War Hawks struggled to handle CTX's pressure, committing 26 second half turnovers as the Tornados pulled away.
Concordia finished with 56 points in the paint, 20 fast break points, and held McMurry to just 32% from three while shooting 42% themselves.
