BELTON, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's basketball dropped a heated one-point decision to Concordia University Texas Saturday in Belton.
Joey Ramirez (18 points, 10 rebounds) tallied a double-double as five Tornados reached double figures inside the Mayborn Campus Center on Saturday.
UMHB opened the game with a 12-1 lead but the Tornados fought back, tying the contest at 12 with 12:41 on the clock. CTX would then claim their first lead at 16-14 following a
Tremayne Martin layup.
The game toggled in back-and-forth play from there before the Tornados used an eight-point run to go ahead 31-23. Concordia would carry a 53-40 lead into halftime with a layup from
Aaron San Miguel in the final seconds.
The Tornados led by as much as 18 points in the second half and maintatined a double-digit margin until the Crusaders cut their deficit to 83-76 with just 5:36 left.
In the final moments, with Concordia up one and with the ball, UMHB forced a turnover and got fouled near the buzzer but officials determined that foul occurred after time expired, ending the contest in a 92-91 Concordia win.

Concordia Texas will next head to Seguin, Texas for a SCAC rematch at Texas Lutheran on Tuesday, January 6th. Tip off is scheduled for 2pm.
