ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's soccer team battled Austin College to a 1-1 draw on Friday at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.
After a scoreless opening half, Maddie Oberholtzer broke through in the 50th minute to give CTX a 1-0 advantage. Cecilia Escobar and Karis Hickey were credited with assists on the goal. Austin College responded just over three minutes later as they equalized in the 53rd minute.
The Tornados controlled the attacking numbers, outshooting Austin College 13-7 and putting seven attempts on goal. Oberholtzer led CTX with four shots and two shots on goal, while Kylie Bourquin recorded one save in goal.
CTX generated several chances down the stretch, putting five shots on goal over the final 26 minutes, but was unable to find the game-winner.
Concordia Texas will next remain at home where they will host LeTourneau this Sunday. Kickoff is set for 2pm with Alumni Day festivities beginning at 11am.
