KERRVILLE, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's basketball team survived another nail‑biter on the road, beating Schreiner 97–95 inside Stephens Family Arena on Saturday afternoon. With five players scoring in double figures and a dominant effort on the glass, the Tornados improved to 21–4 overall and 14–2 in SCAC play.
CTX came out firing, putting up 53 first‑half points and building multiple double‑digit leads. Schreiner responded with a strong second half, but the Tornados' depth and rebounding advantage proved decisive. Concordia hauled in 56 total rebounds, including 19 offensive boards, fueling 20 second‑chance points and helping them withstand Schreiner's late surge.
Joey Ramirez delivered one of his best performances of the season, pouring in 29 points while adding 8 rebounds and 2 steals. Anariss Brandon was nearly perfect from the field, scoring 14 points on 5‑of‑6 shooting, while Aaron San Miguel added 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals. Off the bench, Percy Green continued his strong play with 18 points and 7 rebounds, giving CTX a major lift in key stretches.
Despite shooting just 3‑of‑20 from beyond the arc, the Tornados compensated with 48 points in the paint, 21 points off turnovers, and a 32‑21 bench scoring advantage. Schreiner made a final push in the closing minutes, but CTX held firm at the free‑throw line and secured the defensive stops needed to close out the win.
