AUSTIN, Texas – The Tornados turned the game into a track meet early, pushing tempo, attacking the paint, and forcing turnovers to build a 17‑point halftime lead. CTX shot 45% in the opening period, lived at the free‑throw line (19–24), and piled up 27 fast‑break points on the day. Austin kept pace offensively behind hot shooting from Kidus Getenet and Tasshir Pina‑Warren, but the Tornados' depth and relentless pressure proved too much over 40 minutes.
The second half brought more of the same: CTX's bench unit blew the game open, combining for 60 points, dominating the glass, and generating 33 points off Austin turnovers. Percy Green delivered one of the best performances of his season, scoring 27 points on 10‑of‑14 shooting while grabbing 8 rebounds and anchoring the interior. Tremayne Martin added 8 points and 6 rebounds, and Ibrahima Diallo provided a spark with 6 points, 4 boards, and a block in just nine minutes.
Joey Ramirez and Anariss Brandon set the tone early, combining for 28 points and repeatedly igniting transition opportunities. Aaron San Miguel added 10 points and 2 assists, while Jaiden Gastile went a perfect 3‑for‑3 from the field to help CTX shoot nearly 49% overall.
Austin's backcourt duo of Getenet (27 points) and Pina‑Warren (22 points) kept the 'Roos competitive, but CTX's pace, depth, and physicality created separation each time Austin threatened a run.
