ABILENE, Texas — Concordia Texas softball completed a doubleheader sweep of McMurry, winning 6-0 in game one before taking the nightcap 10-3. Kylie Kirk and Karlee Mathis both tossed complete games and homered at Edwards Field on Thursday.

Game One: W, 6-0

The Tornados set the tone early and never looked back behind a dominant performance from Kirk (10 strikeouts) in the circle.

Concordia jumped ahead in the first inning when Malarie Mican stole home to open the scoring. The Tornados continued to add on throughout the game, plating runs in four of the first five innings to build a comfortable lead.

Kamryn Kothman drove in two runs, while Christian Everett also added two RBIs. Mican finished with two hits and two runs scored to pace the offense as Concordia totaled nine hits in the opener.

Kirk was outstanding in the circle, tossing a complete-game shutout while striking out 10 and allowing seven hits to earn the win.

Game Two: W, 10-2

After McMurry scored early, the Tornados broke the game open in the fourth inning. Kirk sparked the rally with a solo home run before Mia Post drove in a run and Mathis launched a two-run homer to give Concordia a 4–1 lead.

The Tornados continued to add on, scoring three runs in the fifth inning and adding insurance runs late to finish with 10 runs on 15 hits.

Kirk led the offense with three RBIs, while Kamryn Kothman recorded three hits. Post added two RBIs and Malarie Mican finished with two hits and an RBI.

Mathis earned the win in the circle, pitching a complete game while allowing three runs on 10 hits.

Concordia Texas & McMurry will compete in game three of the series tomorrow morning. First pitch is scheduled for 11am.
