Men's Golf Places Second at the Schreiner Shootout

KERRVILLE, Texas — The Concordia Texas men's and women's golf teams turned in strong performances at the Schreiner Shootout this week at The Club at Comanche Trace, highlighted by a runner-up individual finish from Kaden English and a second-place team finish for the men's team.

English led the way for Concordia on the men's side, finishing second overall on the leaderboard. The sophomore carded consistent rounds across the two-day tournament and finished just one stroke behind the tournament champion.

Jacob Limon and Parker Smith both delivered firm performances as well, each finishing inside the top ten to give Concordia multiple golfers near the top of the leaderboard.

Shon Dellinger also contributed to the Tornados' steady team showing, helping Concordia secure a second-place team finish in the competitive field.

On the women's side, Concordia saw three golfers place inside the top 25. Remme Trujillo led the Tornados with a 19th-place finish after posting rounds of 87 and 90 for a total score of 177.

Reese Trujillo followed closely behind, finishing 22nd overall with rounds of 95 and 85 for a total of 180. Silvia Alejandra Martinez-Ibarra also placed inside the top 25, finishing tied for 25th after rounds of 93 and 92.

Concordia Texas will next travel to Houston, Texas to compete in the Space City Classic on March 9-10. The two-round tourney is hosted by the University of St. Thomas and will be at the Gus Wortham Park Golf Course.
