IRVING, Texas - Wrapping up a series from earlier in the season, the Concordia Texas softball team bested the University of Dallas on the road by a score of 5-0.
Mayson Post tossed a complete game &
Kylie Kirk broke the single-season program record for doubles (20).
The Tornados set the tone early, getting on the board in the second inning after Molly Olivarez doubled and later came around to score. Concordia added another run in the third as Lilly Longoria drove in Kylie Denaro to make it 2-0.
The game broke open in the fourth inning. Malarie Mican delivered an RBI single before Kirk came through with the big swing, ripping a two-run double to extend the lead to 5-0. That inning provided all the cushion Concordia would need.
In the circle, Post was outstanding, tossing a complete-game shutout. She scattered just three hits across seven innings, allowing no runs while striking out three and consistently working out of any trouble to keep Dallas off the board.
Offensively, Concordia finished with 10 hits, led by multi-hit performances from Denaro, Kirk, and Longoria. Kirk paced the offense with two RBIs, while Mican and Kamryn Kothman also drove in runs.
Concordia Texas will next return home for the final home series of the season against Texas Lutheran starting this Friday, April 17th. First pitch is scheduled for 5pm.
