BELTON, Texas – The Concordia Texas volleyball team opened the 2026 campaign on Tuesday evening with a road matchup against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The Tornados battled the Crusaders in a tightly contested opening set before falling in three sets, 27-29, 17-25, 8-25, inside the Mayborn Campus Center.
Concordia and UMHB traded momentum throughout the opening frame with 14 ties and five lead changes. The Tornados posted their best offensive set of the night with 16 kills while hitting .192, but the Cru narrowly escaped with a 29-27 victory.
UMHB carried the momentum into the second set and grabbed a 2-0 advantage with a 25-17 win. The Crusaders then closed out the match with a 25-8 decision in the third.
