ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Concordia University Texas men's soccer team was unable to overcome an early deficit as the Tornados fell to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, 4-0, on Tuesday evening at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.
The Tornados (0-1) generated a pair of early opportunities from Enoch Morebise, who put shots on frame in the eighth and 13th minutes. UMHB would break through in the 15th minute to take a 1-0 advantage.
CTX continued to create opportunities as Andres Munoz put another attempt on target in the 27th minute. The Cru added a second goal late in the opening half to take a 2-0 advantage into the break.
Concordia came out of halftime looking to cut into the deficit, with Morebise placing his third shot on goal in the 50th minute. UMHB responded with a pair of goals less than two minutes apart in the 56th and 58th minutes to extend its lead to 4-0.
The Tornados continued to battle as Joseph Perez added an attempt on frame in the 57th minute, while the CTX defense held UMHB scoreless for the final 32-plus minutes of action.
