SHERMAN, Texas – The Concordia Texas volleyball team wrapped up the final day of the Austin College Invitational with a strong showing on Saturday, defeating McMurry 3–1 before falling to Hardin‑Simmons in a tightly contested four‑set match. The Tornados leave Sherman at 3–2 overall for the season so far, carrying momentum into their next contest on September 15 at home against Schreiner.
Game One: CTX 3, McMurry 1 (25–15, 18–25, 25–18, 25–22)
Concordia opened the morning with a convincing win over McMurry, controlling the first set with a .394 hitting percentage and never looking back. CTX finished the match with 50 kills, 42 assists, and a strong .264 hitting percentage, highlighted by efficient offense and timely defensive stands.
The Tornados were balanced across the board, with multiple hitters producing standout performances:

Game Two: Hardin‑Simmons 3, CTX 1 (24–26, 16–25, 25–22, 19–25)
In their second match of the day, the Tornados battled Hardin‑Simmons through four competitive sets that featured 26 tie scores and 12 lead changes. CTX rallied to take the third set behind a late offensive surge but ultimately fell 3–1.
