Was an all-conference hurler who posted a combined record of 11-1 … Region 5 All-Star selection … Had a 2.14 earned run average with 36 strikeouts in 42 innings of work as a sophomore.

High School:
Four-year letterwinner at Bryan … Posted a 12-0 record on the mound as a senior with 119 strikeouts against only 20 walks in 81.2 innings pitched … Also had a .959 fielding percentage … Offensively, batted .369 with 22 RBI and two home runs to go along with a .582 slugging percentage and a .476 on-base percentage … Had a 10-1 record as a junior … All-state selection … THSBCA and Greater Houston All-Star … Two-year team captain … All-district pitcher as a sophomore and junior … Was an all-state first team pitcher and all-state second team second baseman as well as the district MVP as a senior … Team was bi-district and area champions … Also played basketball during freshman year … Honor roll student.
