The season was highlighted by D3Baseball.com honorable mention all-American Justin Traxler. He tied the single-season record for saves with eight and posted a 6-1 record with a 3.00 ERA on the year.

The Torandos made back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Regionals in 2017 and 2018. It is the first time since the 2011 and 2012 seasons CTX has made a regional appearance in back-to-back years. In his eight seasons, the Tornados have won two ASC Tournament titles (2011, 2012) and three regular season championships (2014, 2016 and 2018).

Mokry was also a member of the 2012 ASC West Division Coaching Staff of the Year, as the Tornados were also ranked as high as fourth nationally during the season and finished with a school-record 37 victories in the program’s NCAA Division III era. Ullmann was among three Tornado hurlers to garner D3Baseball.com All-West Region recognition and was joined by Tyler Grygar, Scott Hays and Jacob Spelbring on the All-ASC West Division First Team. Austin Rupert, the winning pitcher in the ASC title game against McMurry, was honorably mentioned for all-conference laurels.

Headlined by ASC West Division Pitcher of the Year Colin Butschek, Mokry mentored four hurlers who garnered American Southwest Conference postseason honors while helping the Tornados record one of their biggest turnaround seasons in program history in 2011. The performances of the team’s pitching staff allowed Concordia to record 32 victories, which more than doubled the previous season’s total, win a share of the West Division title, capture the ASC championship and record a pair of wins at the NCAA West Regional.

Mokry has also been working with Austin Slam Baseball since 2005. In this role with the non-profit organization, which trains and develops players to attain their next level of the sport, he coaches the Slam Senators in the summer while also assisting with daily operations in the front office.
