Concordia men's soccer fell short

AUSTIN, TX – The Concordia University Texas men's soccer team fell to the University of the Ozarks on Thursday afternoon at the Town and Country Optimist Fields in Austin, TX. The 4-1 loss to Ozarks in American Southwest Conference (ASC) play drops Concordia to 3-14 overall and 2-10 in ASC play while the Ozarks improve to 13-2-3 overall and 8-2-2.

The Eagles scored one goal in the 17th minute to take the 1-0 lead although the Tornados tied the game at one in the 39th minute when Chris Hawkins (Midland, TX) and Josh Colberg (Killeen, TX) connected with Armando Dimeo (Deer Park, TX) to score their sole goal of the game. 

Concordia played strong in the second half until late breakdowns allowed three Eagle goals. 

Sophomore Eric Davis (Austin,TX) finished with five saves while Freshman Cullen Strange ended the game with one save. 

Concordia had 7 shots over the course of the game while the Eagles recorded 14 shots.

Concordia will be back in action Saturday afternoon at Cedar Park High School for their final game of the 2008 season against the University of Texas at Dallas. The game is set to start at 3:00pm.
