BROWNWOOD, Texas – Concordia University Texas men's soccer team was shutout by Howard Payne University in a 2-0 loss Saturday afternoon at Citizens National Bank Field. The loss drops Concordia to 3-8 and 2-4 in the American Southwest Conference (ASC) while; Howard Payne improves to 4-2-2 and 3-2-1.

Howard Payne jumped ahead of the Tornados early in the first half scoring goals in the 10th minute and 27th minute, giving the Yellow Jackets a 2-0 lead which was enough to give them the win.

Concordia outshot Howard Payne University 18 to 13 in the game which included six shots on goal.

Goalie Eric Davis (Austin, TX) recorded four saves in the loss.

The Tornados will be back in action against Schreiner University on Thursday October 9, 2008 for a home match up at Vista Ridge High School. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 PM start.
