Concordia Ends Season with a Loss

AUSTIN, TX- The Concordia University Texas women's soccer team fell to the University of Texas at Dallas 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Cedar Park High School. The loss finalizes the Tornados' 2008 season with an overall record of 4-11-3 and 3-10 in American Southwest Conference (ASC) play. UT Dallas improves to 13-3-3 and 11-1-1 advancing them to the ASC playoffs. 

Concordia started the game by honoring seniors Christy Wawrzyniak (Austin, TX) and Elizabeth Hall (Pflugerville, TX). Each of them have been four year starters for the Tornados. 

The UTD Comets jumped ahead early in the game scoring their first goal seven minutes into the game. Concordia defense had their work cut out for them defending a very strong UT Dallas team. The Tornado defense held the game at one until the 51st minute when the Comets scored their final goal to give them the 2-0 victory. 

Senior Hall finished with seven saves for the Tornados. Hilary Wagner (Houston, TX) and Wawrzyniak each recorded one shot on goal. 

As a team, Concordia was outshot by the Comets 19-4 in the game marking only two shot on-goal.
