Marshall, TX- Concordia University Texas women's basketball team (3-1, 3-1 ASC) sailed past East Texas Baptist University (1-5, 1-3 ASC), 89-64 in American Southwest Conference play Monday night in Marshall at Ornels Gym.
Concordia jumped ahead earlier as they went into the half with a 42-22 lead over the Tigers. Although the Tigers fought back in the second half to come within 10 points a late push by the Tornados was too much for them to handle. Concordia finished with a 25-point victory.
The Tornados were led by Senior
Kassandra Bills who finished with a double-double amassing 25 points and 12 rebounds in the victory.
Kerrie Carter added a season high 24 points.
Candy Vallo and Karlee Wilson each score 17 points to lead the Tigers.
As a team Concordia shot 37% with 54 total rebounds. Defensively they forced 17 Tiger turnovers.
Concordia will be back at home on Saturday at the Concordia Field House as they will take on the University of Texas at Tyler. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 pm. This will be the final home game for the Tornados before the Christmas holidays.
