BOX SCORE

AUSTIN, Texas --
Rebecca Davis netted a 96th minute golden goal in the first overtime to help East Texas Baptist to a 2-1 win over the Concordia University Texas women's soccer team Saturday afternoon at Town & Country Optimist Soccer Fields.

Davis was set up by a long pass from Briann Greener, which bounced over the CTX defense and allowed Davis to run onto the ball and slip it past freshman goalkeeper #Teysha Sivage#.

CTX struck first in the contest as sophomore midfielder #Kiera Ruck# launched a shot from 35 yards away that carried over ETBU goalkeeper Tamara Carlisle in the 18th minute.  Ruck's goal, which was set up off a pass from sophomore defender #Lauren Browning#, was her sixth of the season.

ETBU scored the equalizing goal in the 47th minute as Ashley Hamer scored following a scramble after a corner kick.  The Tornados were unable to clear a ball that found its way into the box and Hamer pounded the ball into the back corner of the net to tie the game 1-1.

ETBU outshot CTX 19-9 overall, including a 12-3 margin in the second half and overtime.  CTX was able to control the pace in the first half, despite being shorthanded.  ETBU stepped up the pace in the second half, which eventually led to a tying score and the game winner.

Sivage came up with 12 saves for the Tornados.

CTX will return to action on Tuesday, October 20, in a road game at Huston-Tillotson University.  The game, which will be played at St. Francis High School in Austin, is set to begin at 7 p.m.
