AUSTIN, Texas -- The Concordia University Texas women's soccer team dropped their final home game of the 2009 season by a 5-0 score to the University of Texas-Tyler Saturday afternoon at Town & Country Optimist Soccer Fields. Prior to the contest, the Tornados (5-7-3, 3-7-1 ASC) honored #Emily Sager# in Senior Day festivities.
UT-Tyler (11-3-0, 9-1-0 ASC) took a 2-0 lead into halftime as Analiz Medina and Kendall Kramer scored first-half goals for the Patriots.
In the second half, UT-Tyler's Ashley Crawford extended the lead to 3-0 after scoring in the 57th minute.
The Patriots picked up unassisted goals from Lindsey Edwards (74th minute) and Emily Bechdol (84th minute) to notch the 5-0 win.
CTX freshman goalkeeper #Teysha Sivage# tallied nine saves in the contest.
Sophomore midfielder #Kiera Ruck# took a team-high two shots, both of which were on target, for the Tornados.
CTX will return to action on Thu., Oct. 29 in a road contest at the University of the Ozarks.
