AUSTIN, Texas --
Howard Payne University received two first-half goals, which was enough to defeat the Concordia University Texas men's soccer team Saturday afternoon, 3-1, at Town & Country Optimist Soccer Fields.

The Tornados (3-4-2, 1-3-2 ASC) went down early 2-0 in the first half as Howard Payne (5-4-0, 4-2-0 ASC) scored goals in the eighth minute and 40th minute.

Late in the second half, CTX scored its lone goal as senior #Conor Woolbert# scored on a penalty kick after senior #Armando Dimeo# was taken down in the box by a HPU defender in the 86th minute.

However, HPU would come right back and score its third goal of the match as Malcolm Wentworth scored in the 90th minute on an assist from Shane Cazad.

Wentworth tallied three total points in the contest after scoring the final goal of the match and assisting on the first goal.

With today's loss, the Tornados have now dropped three in a row.

The Tornados will attempt to get back on track on Friday, October 9 at 3 p.m. at Schreiner University in Kerrville.
