RICHARDSON, Texas -- A 98th minute goal off the foot of Cassie Lydick helped the University of Texas-Dallas to a 2-1 win Saturday afternoon over the Concordia University Texas women's soccer team.
Junior forward #Lya Morfitt# scored CTX's (5-9-3, 3-9-1 ASC) lone goal, one that tied the game at 1-1 in the 61st minute. It was Morfitt's fifth goal of the season.
UTD (7-7-4, 7-4-2 ASC) scored the game's first goal as Emily George chipped the ball over CTX freshman goalkeeper #Teysha Sivage# in the sixth minute of the match.
UTD outshot CTX 27-2 overall. Sivage posted 12 saves for the Tornados in their final game of the season.
The Tornados, who broke the school record for single-season wins in 2009, were led overall by sophomore midfielder #Kiera Ruck# and her six goals. Sivage led the Tornados in net by stopping 75 shots and recording three shutouts in her first collegiate season.
