Shooting Woes Doom Tornados Versus Dallas

The Concordia University Texas women's basketball shot a season low 28.8% (19-of-66) in a 58-45 loss to the University of Dallas on Wednesday evening at the Maher Center.  Junior forward #Jennifer Herman# paced the Tornados (1-2, 1-1 ASC) with 11 points in the loss.

Senior forward #Kerrie Carter# posted a double-double for CTX after scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Dallas (3-1) limited the Tornados to shooting just 28.1% (9-of-32) in the first half and 29.4% (10-of-34) in the second half.  CTX was 2-of-20 (10%) from beyond the three-point line.  In addition to the shooting woes, the Tornados turned the ball over 25 times. CTX did force 24 Dallas turnovers.

The Tornados trailed by seven points at halftime and were eventually downed by 13 in the contest.  Dallas shot 36.4% (20-of-55) from the floor.  CTX had only 10 attempts from the free throw line in the game.

Cara Sczepanski scored 27 points and collected 15 rebounds in the contest to lead Dallas.

Concordia Texas will return home to play its first contest at Concordia Fieldhouse on Sat., Dec. 5 against LeTourneau University at 1 p.m.  The ASC match up will be broadcast live on the Tornados Sports Radio Network.
