Austin, TX- Thursday night Senior,
Kassandra Bills set the career scoring record for Concordia University Texas as she hit an amazing three from behind the men's line with 8:07 left in the game. The three gave Kassandra 1659 career points, passing Ashley Edwards for All-time leading scorer.
Unfortunately it was not all smiles for the Tornados (10-12, 10-10 ASC) as they lost a heartbreaker on a last second shot to give Howard Payne University (19-5, 15-5 ASC) a 55-53 victory.
The game was a race back in forth with the Tornados getting out to a 9-point lead with 4:43 left in the first half, before the Yellow Jacket came racing back. The score was 28-26 with the Tornados up two going into halftime.
Concordia was led by Bills with 21 points and 6 rebounds and sophomore
Jennifer Herman with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Senior
Tiffany Turner led all players with 6 assists.
The Tornados shot 30.5 percent from the field and continued their league leading free-throw percentage shooting 90 percent going 9-10.
Next action for the Tornados comes Saturday afternoon as they take on Sul Ross State at The Concordia Field House at 1:00pm.
