Southwestern's Eighth Inning too Much for CTX

ROUND ROCK, TX- Concordia University Texas baseball fell to the Southwestern University Pirates, 10-3 Tuesday afternoon at the Dell Diamond. The game remained close throughout until the eighth inning. 

Concordia is now 11-13 overall while Southwestern improves to 12-12 for the season.

Tornado junior, Justin Beasley marked the first hit of the day off a solo homerun in the bottom of the third to give Concordia the 1-0 lead. Although Southwestern fought back in the fourth to tie the game at one and took the lead in the seventh scoring two off two hits. 

Southwestern had a big eighth inning as they scored five runs on one hit which include a three run homerun by Cray Betts. The Pirates scored another two runs in the top of the ninth. 

The Tornados will again take on the Pirates for the ninth time in the history of the program on March 31st at the Dell Diamond with a 2:00 pm start. Concordia leads the series between the two teams 5-3. 

Concordia will be back in action this weekend as they travel to Alpine, TX to take on American Southwest Conference competitor Sul Ross State. The game time Friday is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start followed by a 1:00pm double-header on Saturday.
