Women's Soccer Blanked by Hardin-Simmons

ABILENE, Texas -- The Concordia University Texas women's soccer team finished up the two-day road trip to Abilene by being shut out by Hardin-Simmons University, 12-0, on Saturday afternoon.  The Tornados (2-2-3, 1-2-1 ASC) were only able to attempt one shot in the entire 90-minute contest.

Hardin-Simmons (6-1-0, 3-0-0 ASC) extended its American Southwest Conference unbeaten streak to 110 games following the shutout win.

"Hardin-Simmons is a high quality team," said CTX head women's soccer coach Corey Holton.  "That's a team that would would like to aspire to be like in the future.  We have working to build our program to reach the level that Hardin-Simmons is at right now."

Sophomore midfielder #Kiera Ruck# was the only CTX player to attempt a shot in the contest, one that was stopped by HSU goalkeeper Christi Carr.

The Cowgirls attempted 38 shots in the contest, including 27 in the first half of play.

The Tornados will look to bounce back from Saturday's loss by returning home to host the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in another ASC tilt on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 1 p.m.
