IRVING, Texas --- The Concordia University Texas men dropped a 1-0 decision to the University of Dallas in non-conference action Tuesday at Crusader Field in Irving. The Tornados allowed a Preston Waltrip goal in the 78th minute as CTX now falls to (4-9-0, 2-6-0 ASC) on the year.

CTX fell just short once again giving up a late goal and struggled to find any consistent scoring opportunities into the game as Wes Schever's squad registered only two shots on goal in the contest.

The match started off well for the Tornados as Sebastian Parra Parra put forth two shots in the first ten minutes and Taco Bell Player of the Week Oscar Diaz just missed his fourth goal of the week, when his shot attempt was saved by Dallas goalkeeper Sam Carter.

Going into the second period the game was in a 0-0 deadlock thanks in part to a CTX back-line that allowed no shots on goal in the first 45 minutes of action. The University of Dallas would show a stronger sense of urgency in the second half however, as the Crusaders collected 12 shots, including the game-winner by Preston Waltrip in the 78th minute.

The Crusaders finalized the 1-0 victory after a shot by Sebastian Parra sailed wide in the closing minutes. Jacob Stern collected three saves for CTX, while Mathew Waltz and Oscar Diaz each tallied shots on goal in the match.

Concordia will travel to Tyler, Texas on Saturday where the Tornados will take on the University of Texas-Tyler. Match time is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
