CTX Women Face Texas-Dallas in Opening Round of ASC Conference Tournament

RICHARDSON, Texas ---
Hardin-Simmons posted a perfect 13-0 record against league competition to win the regular season title and seal the right to host its eighth straight American Southwest Conference Women's Soccer Championship Tournament, to be held Nov. 5-7 at HSU Soccer Complex in Abilene, Texas.

The entire six-team, single elimination event will be available for fans through live video and statistics, while Sunday's championship game will also have live audio. All links can be found on HSU's athletic website and the conference's Tournament Central page.

Head coach Marcus Wood's Cowgirls (17-0), winners of the last seven ASC titles and 12 overall, will receive a first-round bye. Nationally-ranked HSU has not lost to a conference opponent in 130 straight games. Texas-Tyler (13-4, 11-2 ASC) locked up the No. 2 seed and will receive the other first-round bye.

Texas-Dallas (12-5-1, 10-2-1 ASC), which won the 2002 ASC title and reached the title match the last two years, will be the No. 3 seed. Howard Payne (10-4-3, 8-3-2 ASC) earned the fourth spot, followed by fifth-seed Mississippi College (12-4-2, 8-4-1 ASC) and No. 6 seed Concordia Texas (10-6-2, 7-4-2 ASC). HPU and CTX are making their first appearances at the ASC tournament.

Friday's first-round matchups will be HPU against MC at 11 a.m., with the winner getting HSU in Saturday's 11 a.m. semifinal. UTD and CTX will duel on Friday at 2 p.m., with the victor going against UT Tyler at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the semifinals. The championship game is slated for 1 p.m. Sunday.

Texas-Dallas edged Concordia 2-1 in their only match-up of the season on October 21st in Austin. 

The ASC tournament winner earns an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.

· Admission: $5 for adults, $3 for students/children.

· No complimentary admission passes will be accepted.

· This is the 13th year of the ASC women's soccer tournament
