BROWNWOOD, Texas --- The Concordia University women's soccer team was unable to push through for a goal Friday afternoon as they played Howard Payne University to a 0-0 tie in 110 minutes of action. The result gives each team a 1-1-1 American Southwest Conference record while the Tornados stand at 3-3-1 overall and the Yellow Jackets are currently at 2-2-2 for the year.

Concordia all but found the goal twice, but could not convert either opportunity as the Tornados failed to collect their third victory in a row. The backline of Concordia had a bend but don't break mentality as the Tornados allowed 16 shots, but none were a threat to CTX goalkeeper Tyler Steinbach as she collected 10 saves in the match.

The Tornados believed they had found success midway through the second period as CTX was able to get a through ball and find the back of the net only to see the play called back due to offsides. Concordia pushed the pace in the second overtime period attempting two shots, but were unable to collect the game winner.

Hilary Wagner and Victoria Williams both collected two shots on the afternoon while mid-fielder Axita Patel was able to record three shots against the HPU defense. Kiera Ruck saw her first action of the year as she put one shot on goal in the match.

Howard Payne's Shannon Costello and Leslie Jones combined for seven shots while goalkeeper Adrienne Walker made two saves in the shutout effort.

Concordia will travel to Belton Saturday as they take on conference rival Mary Hardin-Baylor at 1:00 p.m.
