Adrianne Ambrosy scored her first career goal in the second half and Olivia Jablinski had a record-breaking evening with her seventh clean sheet as the Concordia University Texas women's soccer team defeated Centenary, 1-0, to record its seventh straight shutout victory on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Vandegrift High School's Monroe Stadium. The Tornados, who have gone over 700 consecutive minutes without yielding a goal, matched a single-season program standard by notching their 10th win of the season.

Concordia dominated the first half of play and outshot Centenary by a 15-4 count, but the squad couldn't find the back of the net. Maire Cox and Ambrosy almost put the Tornados when Cox rifled a shot off the crossbar that was collected by Ambrosy, but the freshman's attempt to score on the rebound was scooped up by Brittaney Dunn.

Cox and Ambrosy, however, were able to connect in the second half. With the ball loose at the edge of the box, Cox volleyed a pass to Ambrosy that was lobbed over Dunn's head and into the far post to give the Tornados a 1-0 advantage. The defense consisting of Hilary Wagner, Lauren Browning, Elizabeth Evangelista, Dalaine Whitlock, Taylor Pressley and Ashley Cervantes as well as Jablinski would keep the door closed the rest of the way, extending the school-record shutout streak to 700:40 to help the Tornados seal the victory.

Jablinski broke Concordia school records for single-season and career shutouts by notching her seventh of the fall and making one save on eight chances. Centenary's (8-6-1) Dunn turned away 10 of the 23 shots she faced in the losing effort.

Concordia (10-4-0), which recorded its third 1-0 victory during its current seven-match winning streak, will hit the road to battle Texas-Dallas for second place in the American Southwest Conference standings on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m.
