Mohamed Diallo set single-season program records for goals and points by finding the back of the net twice as the Concordia University Texas men's soccer team played Ozarks to a 2-2 double-overtime tie on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Hurie Field. The Tornados, who could have moved into a position to qualify for the six-team American Southwest Conference Tournament with a victory heading into the final week of the regular season, ended the day in seventh place in the standings.

At the tail end of the first half, Diallo put the Tornados on the board when he headed in a pass from Cameron Duke to make it 1-0. The sophomore set a single-season program standard by accumulating his 17th and 18th points on the play.

Diallo broke another record for goals in a season when he took a cross from Christian Fredrickson and shot the ball past goalkeeper Neil Thompson to give the Tornados a 2-0 lead at the time. It was his eighth marker of the fall.

Ozarks (6-9-1, ASC 5-6-1), however, rallied and was able to tie the match and force overtime. Guido Salas and Shaun Keane tallied goals in the 74th and 76th minute, respectively.

Concordia controlled the first overtime session and took three shots on goal. However, Thompson came away with a save on each play. The Tornados almost got the golden goal they needed in the seventh minute of the second overtime session, but Kendall Rockers' shot hit off the post and was cleared away. Jacob Stern then made a pair of saves to salvage the tie.

Concordia's Stern made eight saves on 16 opportunities. Ozarks' Thompson turned away 10 of the 17 shots he faced.

Concordia (5-7-2, ASC 5-4-2), which is half a match behind LeTourneau in the standings for the final playoff spot, will host Mississippi College on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m.
