Clarksville, Ark. -
Lena New scored two goals to lead the Concordia University Texas women's soccer team to a convincing 5-0 victory over Ozarks on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Hurie Field. The Tornados set single-season school records by recording their 11th victory overall and eighth in American Southwest Conference play.

Concordia (11-5, ASC 8-3) set the tone early by getting on the board in the first minute and never looking back. A New strike off a pass from Chastity Carrillo just 47 seconds into the match gave the Tornados a 1-0 lead that they would take into the break. Carrillo matched a single-season school record with her seventh helper of the season on the play.

The Tornados netted a season-high four goals in the second half. New doubled the Tornado lead when she headed the ball past goalkeeper Morgan O'Neil on a scramble in the box shortly after a corner kick in the 54th minute, and Kendall Williams added her team-leading ninth goal of the season off a feed from Lauren Guerrero 13 minutes later. Marcia Kaiser then helped seal the final outcome by setting up two insurance tallies that were scored within 63 seconds of each other by Katy Mendoza and Meagan Brown.

Concordia's Olivia Jablinski played nearly 74 minutes and earned the victory without having to make a save, as the defense led by regular starters Lauren Browning, Elizabeth Evangelista, Hilary Wagner and Dalaine Whitlock only allowed the Eagles to attempt two shots and one on goal. Jablinski also set single season and career records for wins by notching her 11th. Andria Rosales saved the only shot she faced in relief to complete the Tornados' ninth shutout of the year. Ozarks' (3-14, ASC 2-10) O'Neil went the distance in net, making 12 stops on 21 opportunities.

Concordia returns home for its final two home matches of the regular season and can punch its ticket to the American Southwest Conference Tournament with a victory over Mississippi College on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m.
