Austin, Texas
- Axita Patel netted her first career hat trick and Kiera Ruck added two goals in leading the Concordia University Texas women's soccer team to a 5-0 victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday, Sept. 24 at St. Stephen's. Chastity Carrillo contributed two assists, as the Tornados earned their second straight victory over the Crusaders.

Patel scored the first two goals of the match in the first half. The sophomore midfielder put Concordia on the board in the 17th minute when she took a through ball from Chastity Carrillo and beat goalkeeper Meredith West by chipping it over her shoulder. Patel later doubled the Tornado lead less than 10 minutes before the break by stealing the ball from a Cru defender in the box and placing it in the corner of the net.

Concordia, which had a 2-0 advantage at halftime, added three more goals in a span of 6:53 to put the match away. The Tornados got their third goal when Maire Cox charged down the left sideline and crossed the ball to Lena New inside the box. New then slipped a pass down to Ruck, who one-timed a shot past backup goalkeeper Erica Harris. Cox and New were credited with assists on the play.

Less than four minutes later, Ruck scored again on a breakaway after taking a pass straight down the middle from Carrillo. In the 81st minute, Patel netted her third goal of the match and sealed the final outcome when she caught the goalkeeper out of position and sailed a shot from over 30 yards away.

Concordia's Jablinski recorded her second career shutout victory by making four saves on 12 chances. Mary Hardin-Baylor's (1-5-1, ASC 1-3-0) West was credited with the loss after stopping two of the eight shots she saw. Harris also turned away two of the eight shots she faced in the second half.

Concordia (4-4-0, ASC 2-2-0) returns to action when it visits Texas Lutheran on Friday, Sept. 30 at 2 p.m.
