Kila Hartom made six saves, including several from point-blank range, as the Concordia University Texas women's soccer team played Texas-Dallas to a 0-0 double-overtime tie on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at St. Stephen's. With the draw, the Tornados ended with weekend alone in third place.
After an evenly played first half, Texas-Dallas (8-4-1, ASC 4-3-1) took control in the second frame and outshot the Tornados 12-6 in the stanza. Hartom, however, came away with three key stops to keep the Comets off the board. The teams then played an additional 20 minutes of scoreless soccer until the match ended in a tie.
Hartom made her six saves on 18 chances for Concordia, which is off to its best start in program history in league action. Texas-Dallas' Brittany Best and Macaire Ament combined for the shutout by making one save apiece on a combined 10 opportunities.
Concordia (8-3-2, ASC 6-1-1) visits Louisiana College on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 5 p.m.
