Domonique Liddell scored 13 points, but the Concordia University Texas women's basketball team suffered a 61-55 loss to Texas-Dallas on Thursday, Dec. 20 at the CTX Field House.

Concordia led for most of the first half and had an 18-12 lead after Madi Hess converted a 3-point play the old-fashioned way with 13:08 on the clock. A trifecta by Sara Byrd made it 23-16 just past the midway point, but the Comets came right back and tied it at 23s on two free throws by Kellie Loukanis. After a Jo'Anna Davis 3-pointer gave the visitors a 29-27 edge, Kaleigh Landry tied the score at 29-all going into the break by converting a pair of free throws.

The Tornados scored the first five points of the second half on a Brianna Smith 3-pointer followed by a Liddell layup, but Texas-Dallas responded with 13 unanswered to go ahead by a 42-34 score with 14:37 left in regulation.  Morgan Kilgore had five points during the stretch, which included a 3-point play that gave her team the lead for good. Concordia came no closer than three points the rest of the way before settling for the six-point loss.

Liddell grabbed nine rebounds and blocked three shots to go along with her 13 points for Concordia. Smith scored 11 points, while Hess contributed seven points and four steals.

Davis scored 17 points off the bench to pace Texas-Dallas (8-1, ASC 6-0). She also canned all four of the team's 3-pointers. Katie Korioth had 16 points, seven rebounds and four steals.

Concordia (4-5, ASC 2-3) will host the Christmas Classic next week and open up play against Wisconsin-Stout on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 4 p.m.
