Jordan James scored her fourth goal of the season and third in the last two matches as the Concordia University Texas women's soccer team played Austin College to a 1-1 tie on Sunday, Sept. 23 at Vandegrift High School's Monroe Stadium. With the draw, the Tornados extended their unbeaten streak to five matches.

James, who scored both of the team's goals in yesterday's conference win over East Texas Baptist, found the back of the net again in the 38th minute by heading home a Chastity Carrillo corner kick. Carrillo was credited with the helper and moved into a tie for first on the program's all-time list for career assists with Axita Patel by notching her 12th on the play.

Austin College (3-4-1), however, got the equalizer to eventually force overtime in the second half. In the 48th minute, Abby Saizow took a short pass from Tyler Marquez and tapped a shot to the left post past the Tornado goalkeeper. Concordia had a 6-3 shot advantage in the extra sessions, but nothing was decided in the additional 20 minutes of play and the teams settled for the draw.

Olivia Jablinski made a career-high 10 saves on 17 opportunities for Concordia. Austin College's Emily Brockette did not make a save on five opportunities in the first half before being relieved by Franchesca Loyoza for the remainder of the match. Loyoza turned away four of the nine shots she faced.

Concordia (5-2-1), which is among three unbeaten schools in conference play, visits LeTourneau on Friday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m.
