Tornados, Tigers play to scoreless draw on Saturday afternoon

MARSHALL, Texas – The Concordia University Texas women's soccer team played East Texas Baptist to a scoreless draw after two overtime periods on Saturday afternoon at Cornish Field. The match, which was scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., was delayed 57 minutes before kickoff due to lightning.

The Tornados (4-3-3, 2-1-1 ASC) were outshot by the Tigers (4-4-1, 3-1-1 ASC), 17-13, but controlled the possession for the second half and both overtime periods.

Freshman Megan Frontiera posted a match-high six saves to secure the draw for Concordia Texas.

Senior Chastity Carrillo and junior Alex Price each recorded four shots apiece, while Price put a pair on goal.

Natalie Torres attempted a match-high five shots, including two that were stopped by Frontiera.

The Tornados will continue their current road trip on Thursday, Oct. 17 at Ozarks.
