RICHARDSON, Texas – The Concordia University Texas men's soccer team was unable to upset seventh-ranked Texas-Dallas on Saturday, as the Comets logged a 3-0 victory at the UTD Soccer Field.
Texas-Dallas (11-0-3, 5-0-2 ASC) led 1-0 at halftime and added two more scores in the final 45 minutes to complete the shutout.
The Tornados (1-8-2, 1-4-1 ASC) were limited to four shots, three of which were attempted by Marshal Tucker. One of his four shots was saved by Comets goalkeeper Steven Nicknish, who recorded a clean sheet.
Texas-Dallas, which extended its unbeaten streak to 14 games, recorded 21 shot attempts and held a 13-1 advantage over Concordia Texas in corner kicks.
Omar Jaroun's ninth goal of the year started the scoring for the Comets in the 17th minute.
Lukas Teese netted Texas-Dallas' second goal of the match in the 74th minute. Less than a minute later, Michael Darrow scored his 16th goal of the year to cap the scoring.
Concordia will return home to host LeTourneau on Friday, Oct. 25. The conference contest is slated to kick off at 7 p.m. at Vandegrift High School's Monroe Stadium.
