RICHARDSON, Texas – Sarah Borg scored the game-winning goal in the 89th minute and Texas-Dallas edged the Concordia University Texas women's soccer team, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at the UTD Soccer Field.
The Tornados (5-4-3, 3-2-1 ASC) trailed 1-0 at the half, but Nicole Henderson headed home a pass from Chastity Carrillo for her third goal of the season in the 67th minute which tied the contest.
However, Borg got behind the Concordia Texas defense with just over a minute left in regulation and scored the deciding goal.
The Comets (7-8-0, 5-2-0 ASC) outshot the Tornados, 17-3, and had a 6-2 advantage in attempts on goal.
Jeri Mills put Texas-Dallas in front in the 29th minute after she finished a pass from Sofia Quezada by going over the top of Concordia goalkeeper Megan Frontiera.
Frontiera registered four saves for the Tornados.
Concordia will return to the Capital City to host LeTourneau on Friday, Oct. 25. The league tilt is slated to kick off at 5 p.m. at Vandegrift High School's Monroe Stadium.
