BROWNWOOD, Texas – Nicole Young and Alex Price each netted goals and lifted the Concordia University Texas women's soccer team to a 2-1 American Southwest Conference (ASC) victory over Howard Payne on Friday afternoon at Citizens National Bank Soccer Field.

Young put the Tornados (4-2-2, 2-0-0 ASC) on the scoreboard in the 14th minute with her first goal of the season.

The Houston, Texas, native received a pass from Jordan James in the box and put the ball in the back of the net.

Nearly 18 minutes later, Price dribbled through a pair of defenders before scoring her fourth goal of the campaign to give CTX a 2-1 advantage.

The Lady Jackets (2-8-0, 1-2-0 ASC) cut the deficit in half in the 41st minute after Kassey Nix off an assist by Tori Moore during a corner kick.

Both teams went scoreless in the second half and Concordia Texas remained unbeaten in league action.

The Tornados tallied 13 shots in the victory, including nine on target. Howard Payne attempted only eight shots, five of which were put on goal.

Megan Frontiera netted four saves for Concordia, while Adrienne Walker collected a match-high seven for the Lady Jackets.

The Tornados will play 11th-ranked Hardin-Simmons (7-1-0, 3-0-0 ASC) on Saturday in Abilene. The league tilt is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. at the HSU Soccer Complex.
