ABILENE, Texas – The Concordia University Texas women's soccer team surrendered a pair of first-half goals and was unable to recover, as 11th-ranked Hardin-Simmons shut out the Tornados, 2-0, in an American Southwest Conference (ASC) match on Saturday at the HSU Soccer Complex.

The Cowgirls (8-1-0, 4-0-0 ASC) remained unbeaten in league action, thanks to the two early scores.

Caitlin Cramer put the home squad on the scoreboard in the 26th minute after finishing a pass from Taylor Thigpen. Five minutes later, Hannah Perkins scored off an assist from Julianne Kucera.

The Tornados (4-3-2, 2-1-0 ASC), who suffered their first loss in conference play, held the circuit's top-scoring club to its third-lowest offensive output of the year.

Concordia Texas was outshot, 23-2, in the match. Lena New and Alex Price each attempted a shot for CTX.

The Tornados will be back in action next Saturday, Oct. 12, when the squad travels to East Texas Baptist.
