AUSTIN, Texas – Following a 16-day layoff, the Concordia University Texas women's basketball team will play former American Southwest Conference (ASC) foe Texas Lutheran on Monday. The non-conference tilt is slated to tip off at 5:30 p.m.

ABOUT CONCORDIA TEXAS
The Tornados enter Monday's non-conference contest with a 4-3 overall record. Concordia Texas dropped an 84-77 decision to ASC rival Mary Hardin-Baylor on Dec. 14. Senior guard Tyler Compton scored 33 points in the loss to the Cru and was named ASC Player of the Week two days later. The Tornados average 76 points per game and are shooting 42.9 percent from the field. Concordia leads the league and ranks seventh in the nation with 16.7 steals per contest.

ABOUT TEXAS LUTHERAN
The Bulldogs are 6-3 overall and have won three consecutive contests. Texas Lutheran, which joined the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference last summer, posted an 87-42 win over Dallas Christian on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs average 76.9 points per game, while holding opponents to only 59.7 per contest. Texas Lutheran also ranks 10th in the nation with 19.2 assists per outing. Junior guard Karisa Cantu is the team leader with 13.8 points per game.

ABOUT THE SERIES
• Concordia has won 12 of the last 14 matchups with Texas Lutheran, including six consecutive.
• Texas Lutheran has not won a game in the series since Feb. 13, 2010.
• The Tornados are 11-2 against the Bulldogs in games played in Austin since 1999.
• In the last four meetings, CTX has limited Texas Lutheran to an average of 58.3 points per game.

In the past three seasons, the Tornados own a 25-6 record on their home court at Concordia Fieldhouse. Concordia has logged a 3-2 record at home this season, 10-3 a year ago and 12-1 during the 2011-12 campaign.
